Deliver Me from the Power of the Lions
Power of the Lions. Many children of God walk in His righteousness and are found blameless before His eyes. However, many of us have fallen victims of disease and accusations even when we are doing everything right. This exactly what happened to the prophet Daniel from biblical times.
As we continue to eat right, exercise, follow doctors’ orders and pray without ceasing yet medical reports still show evidence of disease. Although the enemy of our souls has been defeated, he is still relentlessly seeking to devour like a roaring lion. This is where the courageous faith of Daniel portrays a magnificent example of “Faith.”
King Darius liked Daniel and felt trapped in the deceptive maneuvers of the enemy to blame and condemn Daniel. He was forced to cast Daniel into the den of lions. He told him “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.” Clearly King Darius was extremely afflicted by this as he knew Daniel was innocent. As the morning came King Darius quickly went in haste to the den of lions crying out for Daniel saying, “Daniel, servant o the living God” has your God deliver you from the lions? Daniel replied, “O King, my God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths so that they have not hurt me because I was found innocent before Him.”
Through the death and resurrection of our Lord Christ Jesus, we are also found blameless and now have access to forgiveness, healing, and eternal life. King Darius honored God, by decreeing that every dominion of his kingdom, men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel.
How about you? Can you follow the decree? Can you display unshakeable faith like Daniel? Can you trust the true living God to heal and save you?
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your abundant mercy every morning, I thank you that you consistently show me your perfect love and faithfulness over my circumstances. I pray for you to help me grow in my faith and trust in you for my healing. I thank you for delivering me from the power of the lions and shutting the mouth of every lion sent to devour me. In Jesus’ name amen!
