Celebrate Process and Progress

Sometimes we don’t get what we want, and we don’t meet the expectations or goals that we set for ourselves. For example, perhaps you’ve been working very hard on your physical health, but your latest lab results don’t reflect the numbers you were looking for. How do you remain joyful and hopeful after suffering this type of setback? Simple: change your perception of the situation, and change your “happiness trigger.” First, choose not to see this as a “setback.” It’s not a setback; it’s simply not what you were expecting. Second, reaching a goal is not the only reason to celebrate. Process and progress are great reasons to celebrate, too! You’re taking positive steps to move forward. That in itself is a reason to be happy.
