A Conference for the Journey

Conference for the Journey. My family and I recently attended The Natural Product Expo West at the Anaheim Convention Center. Vendors throughout the globe gather to promote, network and launch their natural, organic and healthy products. This is my third year attending and I just enjoy talking and learning about new products and their nutritional facts. This year I was fascinated to find a booth promoting the use of purple corn. As you know I’m from Peru and I know purple corn grows in the Andean region of Peru so I was curious to learn more. It turns out that this an American company that has brought the purple corn seed to grow in the US, in Minnesota to be exact! They explained the detailed the health benefits of purple corn, and although it is still considered a grain, the nutritional benefits outweigh the grain factor. For instance, I didn’t know that purple corn’s Orac score is more than twice that of blueberries and raspberries. Highly potent antioxidant rich in anthocyanins.

I had the pleasure to meet and network with advocates & wellness leaders like Dr Josh Axe, Jordan Rubin, Naomi Whittel and Julie Morris… all like minded people that believe in unlocking earth’s most powerful ingredients and our power to thrive and heal.

My family and I really enjoyed ourselves, sampled tons of goodies and brought home a lot of new things to try. I will share my findings later on!
